Who am I ? What do I do? Why do I do it? you ask.
I am a creative.
I string words together that create quotes that I hope inspire and uplift those who read them.
I also string words together that create affirmations, poetry and song lyrics that honor all sides of my personality—my *twinkly* side (Yes, there is such a thing. You have one, too; admit it.) and my dark, dramatic, and ominous side (Mixology).
I believe my words spoken and my thoughts unspoken are powerful beyond measure and create well-being or attract the opposite.
When I was a young girl, I won awards for my creative abilities.
At 9 years old, I won an art competition with this oil on canvas painting entitled: First Date.
As I got older, I replaced the art of drawing and painting with the art of dysfunction and defiance. Thankfully, my senses returned home before it was too late for me to do the same.
Many years passed without any creative outlet for me, but thankfully my passion for art was preserved, and now I like to draw and paint again. I’ve added a new creative element to my art with the help of my computer.
Where do I live? Am I married? Do I have kids?
How do I spend my time when I’m not writing quotes, poetry, lyrics, affirmations, and creating art? you ask.
I create a home in Arizona.
I create a life with my one-of-a-kind-super-fantastic husband who was my inspiration to turn myself around, away from alcohol and self-destructive behavior. What a man! Really. What a man he is. ♥
I used to create kids, with the help of said husband. An awesome mix of our DNA created three amazing-beyond-our-expectations young men. I marvel every day about how good my kids turned out, despite their exposure to my darker, more dramatic, and ominous side. Please allow me to publicly thank my Creator for the love of family.
I create an open mind through reading. My favorite book is: Light In August by William Faulkner. My most valued book because it created an awareness in me I did not have before I read it is: A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle.
I create images with the help of my inexpensive Cannon point-and-shoot camera. I take pictures of the unsung, ordinary, everyday beauty that I’m exposed to on any unsung, ordinary, beautiful day. There’s a slideshow highlighting some of my photos waiting for you on the sidebar of my blog. I have a Tumblr site called Harmony Habitat if you want to see my photos.
Why did I create this thing called Word HUGS? you ask.
I create Word HUGS every day to share some of me with you. Through my Morsel-Motivation Quotes, poetry, and Silly Little Affirmations, I hope to create more encouraging-word specialists. An encouraging-word specialist is one who uses words to hug, not hurt.
I create Word HUGS every day to bring together a community of thought-compatibles, so we will increase awareness of kind-word-hugability.
I create Word HUGS every day to help you remember the need for healing, uplifting language in everyday conversation with everyone you know and everyone you meet.
While you’re here, take a few minutes to read, like, and share my stuff.
If you don’t, I’ll be forced to consider all this stuff a colossal waste of time.
Once I’m done considering that possibility, however, I’ll get back to my writing and artwork because my interest in creating this stuff runs deeper than my need for recognition or approval.
Writing and art are interactive signs of compassion—expressions of self—proof that we value ourselves and each other—that’s what Word HUGS Community is about.
Your presence here proves that you are a caring, generous, creative person. You may scoff and say, “Not me! I’m not the creative type,” but you are.
YOU CREATE something in your life every day: pleasure, pain, smiles, tears, good fortune, hardship, goodness, and love.
YOU are a CREATIVE.
I hope you feel more connected to Word HUGS Community now that you’ve read this morsel about its founder/creator, me.
Now, I want to learn a morsel About YOU. Comment below or on a blog post and I will respond, I promise!
Together, we will create a friendship.
Hugs from the Heart,
And when you ask me to write from the heart, you must know that this is a call from your own heart to spill open, too.
